Sirris is the collective centre of the Belgian technology industry. We help companies to implement technological innovations. This enables them to strengthen their competitive position in a sustainable manner. We go out in search of solutions for the technological challenges facing Belgian industry. We do that via collective research projects. Sometimes we take the initiative alone, and sometimes we work together with businesses wanting to put their backs into promising innovations.
The Vrije Universiteit Brussel, the Erasmushogeschool Brussel and l’Université Libre de Bruxelles have set the objective to take a leading position in the field of research on wind energy in Belgium. An important instrument for achieving this goal is the launch of the Brussels Wind Energy Institute. BruWind gathers several research groups from the university association in Brussels active in the field of wind energy. Its research program covers various aspects of modern wind turbine technology.
GOwind!, Ghent Ostend Wind Research Institute is a cluster of 10 research groups from Ghent University Association which decided to consolidate their efforts and expertise in the field of wind research. Clustering all activities into GOwind! allows them to create a one-stop shop for industrial partners to all wind research activities at Ghent University Association.
PMA (division in the Mechanical Engineering Department) stands for Production engineering, Machine design and Automation.
