Our offshore wind expertise (general)
In the topic of offshore wind energy R&D AVRG played a pioneering role and is currently leading several research projects, within all Belgian offshore wind farms, with the aim to reduce the cost of offshore wind energy.
Both by developing physics-based and data-driven modelling tools for condition monitoring and structural health monitoring the research aims to reduce the operation and maintenance costs, optmising the lifetime and improve the design of offshore structures.
The group has developed an extensive track-record in performing both short term and long-term test and monitoring campaigns on offshore wind turbines.
